Heavenly Hospitality Expected
by Mrs. Cookie Johnson
Christian hospitality involves various acts of welcome and kindness that
helps communicate Christ’s love to our guests. These acts are not dependent on
your financial wealth but what you share from your heart. Since we are
celebrating our 10th Anniversary this year at the Mission Possible European
Retreat that will be held on November 5-9 in Rothenburg, Germany, we are so
blessed to be able to offer you some exceptional acts of hospitality.
It has been amazing to watch the new clothing coming in from various sources
as GIFTS for the missionaries this year. We are excited about the variety of
things we have and think you will be blessed when you see what He has provided.
We are really thrilled about what God has been brewing in the foothills of
the Tennessee Smokey Mountains. We have group of ladies from the Pigeon Forge
area who are working very hard to be able to treat you to some Biblical
hospitality. These ladies are not wealthy and have worked many long hours to
raise the money needed to come to the Mission Possible Retreat. Several months
ago, these ladies banded together in one accord and trusted God to raise the
finances needed for their airfare, cost of the retreat, and supplies needed to
bring with them.
Each of these ladies is a professional in the field in which they work and
they are all looking forward to using the talents God has given to them to
minister to you. Cindy, a hairdresser for the past 30 years, is looking forward
to offering free hair cuts for both the women and men. So ladies, remember to
bring along any magazine photos of haircuts you would like to get. Also on this
trip will be Jacinda, Cindy’s daughter. Drewcinda works in a day spa and will be
providing relaxing facials for those who need and want a little pampering. Don’t
be shy! Make sure you sign up early for your treatment. Last but not least,
Sandy, a studio photographer will be offering to take beautiful professional
photos of you and your spouses. Remember to bring that special outfit for your
photograph or perhaps you’ll be able to find something extra special in the
clothing the Lord has provided.
Every year, we are amazed at how the Lord burdens different people’s hearts
to minister to His missionaries serving in Europe. All of us are working
together to build up the body of Christ and we hope you realize that you are not
alone as you serve the Lord. We want you to know how much we appreciated the
work you do for Him. We are also hoping that you will experience God’s love and
His presence in an extraordinary way and that your life will be forever changed
as you bask in the gifts of hospitality He is providing. In November, we are
offering a cup of cold water in Jesus’ name and we are praying that you will
feel refreshed and pampered for a few days.
